# Base URL

> The base URL for every Verification REST API call.

Sandbox and production apps use this shared base URL. HTTP Basic credentials identify the app and therefore select the application environment. The URL has no environment or stage segment.

Authenticate with HTTP Basic using your App ID and App Secret. See [Authentication](/v2/api-reference/authentication).
